Winds will start picking up later in the morning and gust as high as 35 mph this afternoon outside of any showers or storms as we track the approach of a cold front.
The main concern on Sunday is locally damaging wind gusts, which will depend on how much the atmosphere destabilizes ahead of the line.
After our chilliest start in six months, temperatures will rebound to seasonable levels this afternoon.
So far this fall, most of the cold air has been restricted to the western US, where mountain snow has already been underway.
Sunshine and seasonably cool conditions will prevail this afternoon as highs struggle to get out of the 50s.
The weekend will usher in a dry and warmer start before showers return by late Sunday.
A coastal low will try to spread some moisture our way, but most of the rain will fizzle as it moves west of the mountains.
We’ll see some mid to high level clouds, but no rain expected.
The risk for a frost or freeze will linger through 9am this morning, particularly for areas north of Pittsburgh where winds are almost calm.
Most neighborhoods woke up to their chilliest morning of the season so far. Temperatures will stay below average this afternoon with highs only expected to reach the upper 50s to low 60s.
