Meteorologist

Stephanie Allison is a meteorologist for WPXI-TV. "It's been my lifelong dream to do what I love; in the city I love and call home." It is most important to Stephanie to keep her hometown informed and safe in dangerous, severe weather events. "Staying with the viewer during storms and keeping them aware of what's happening in their neighborhood is my top priority." Stephanie also enjoys taking viewers on a weather journey through live cameras and walking you through the forecast step by step. "I want the viewer to know exactly what the forecast is going to be, so they are prepared for the day and week ahead." Stephanie was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area. She graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Earth Science with a concentration in Broadcast Meteorology. Stephanie has won several AP Awards for Outstanding Weather Coverage including covering Hurricane Sandy on Eastern Shore in 2013. Stephanie was the on-call meteorologist for Extreme Home Makeover: Home Edition when the show was in her forecasting area and was even featured in an episode when Hurricane Irene impacted construction on a home in Lewes, DE. Over the past 16 years Stephanie has forecasted as the Chief Meteorologist at HSTV in Uniontown, PA, was the Weekday Evening Meteorologist in Salisbury, MD for five years, and worked in Steubenville, Ohio and freelanced in Johnstown, PA. Stephanie has been a freelance meteorologist for WPXI-TV since June 2017. Stephanie covered the February 2020 snowstorm live in the field for the WPXI Morning News, that newscast won an Emmy for the station. Most recent notable severe weather event she covered was the October 21st, 2021 tornado outbreak that produced 9 tornadoes across the Pittsburgh area. Stephanie officially joined the Severe Weather Team in June of 2022. You can catch Stephanie on the Noon and weekend evening newscasts on Channel 11 News. Frost possible tonight and Thursday night; dry most of the weekend

Temperatures will turn chilly tonight. Lows will drop to the low 40s and upper 30s overnight. A Frost Advisory has been issued for portions of our area tonight. Make sure to bring in or cover sensitive outdoor plants before bed tonight, as frost conditions could be possible and damage vegetation.

Mild and pleasant now, temperatures to turn cooler through the night

Mild and pleasant early this evening, temperatures will turn cooler through the night. You may want to take a sweatshirt with you if you are going to watch football this evening. Temperatures will be around 70 degrees at kick off, but fall to the low 60s by the time the games wrap up tonight. Clear and chilly overnight lows will fall to around 50 degrees, and some spots will even dip into the upper 40s.
