WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. — Two people, including a toddler, were killed in a crash in Washington County on Sunday.
A Washington County 911 supervisor tells Channel 11 that the crash on eastbound I-70 was reported around 1:10 p.m.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the male driver of a westbound Toyota Camry lost control and went over the center median, landing in the eastbound lanes. An eastbound tractor-trailer then hit the Camry.
Following impact with the truck, police say the Camry spun out and two passengers, an adult woman and a toddler, were ejected. The tractor-trailer was also pushed off the road and hit an occupied home.
PSP says the woman died on scene. The toddler died at a nearby hospital.
Washington County Coroner Tim Warco says the driver was also flown to a hospital. His condition was not immediately clear.
Warco says the child was not in a car seat, and the adults weren’t wearing seatbelts.
The tractor-trailer driver and all occupants of the house were evaluated by medics and have since been released.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
The crash shut down eastbound I-70 for several hours.
