2 people killed, 1 person injured in Indiana County crash

Indiana County, Pa. — Two people were killed in a three-car crash in Center Township, Indiana County.

The crash happened on Warren Road, near King Hill Road, around 2:50 p.m. Saturday, according to Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman.

Pennsylvania State Police said a 2017 GMC SUV was traveling east on Warren Road at a high rate of speed and traveled into the westbound lanes while driving on a curve in the road. It hit a 2009 Ford Focus and then continued to travel east before crashing head-on into a 2013 Toyota Corolla, which was also traveling west behind the Ford.

Troopers said Daniel L. Ryan, 57, of Indiana, was the driver of the GMC SUV. He was the only person in that vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nathan S. Blystone, 34, of Kent, was driving the Toyota. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Toyota’s passenger was flown to the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center with serious injuries. Her unborn child was pronounced dead.

State Police said Ryan and Blystone were not wearing seatbelts when the crash happened.

The driver of the Ford Focus was not injured and was wearing a seat belt.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Indiana County Emergency Management Agency/911, Citizens’ Ambulance Service, STAT MedEvac, Indiana Fire Association, Homer City VFD, Aultman VFD, and the Indiana County Coroner’s Office. A member of the Pennsylvania Game Commission all responded to the crash.
