3 people flown to hospital after head-on crash, vehicle fire in Butler County

BUFFALO TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Multiple people are injured after a crash in Butler County.

Butler County dispatchers said multiple vehicles crashed on the 500 block of South Pike Road in Buffalo Township at 8:45 p.m. on Sunday.

Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Chief Matt Cypher said an SUV and pickup truck crashed head-on.

A small fire broke out in the SUV’s engine.

Two people from the SUV and one person from inside the pickup truck were taken to Freeport High School and flown to hospitals.

South Pike Road was closed in both directions until the vehicles were towed and then it was accessible through one lane.
