Bob Nutting extends offer to 11-year-old who found Paul Skenes’ autographed rookie card

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Pirates chairman Bob Nutting extended an offer to the 11-year-old found the coveted Paul Skenes’ autographed rookie card.

Back in November, the Pirates offered a huge prize to whoever found the card, including two season tickets behind home plate for the next 30 years and a spring training experience. Other people added their own prizes to sweeten the deal, including Skenes’ girlfriend Livvy Dunne offering the card finder a spot in her suite during a game and Seth Meyers offering a VIP ticket to a taping of his show — as long as he could see the card for a second.

Nutting released the following statement:

“We had a lot of fun with the idea of a bounty, but we couldn’t be happier for this young baseball fan and his family. Reading his story on how he pulled the card on Christmas morning, what a magical moment. That family bond is what baseball is all about. I would love to host him and his family and follow through with a meet and greet with Paul and his teammates, either here in Pittsburgh or when we travel to LA.”

Fanatics said the 11-year-old and his family plan to sell the card at auction, which will be held in March.
