DONEGAL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Multiple people are dead and another is injured after a head-on crash in Washington County.
Washington County dispatchers said crews were called to mile marker 5, near the Claysville Exit, on I-70 West at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
Dispatchers originally told Channel 11 the call reported three vehicles had crashed. Pennsylvania State Police has since clarified that two vehicles were involved.
Troopers said a Hyundai sedan crossed the grass median from the eastbound lanes and hit a Ford SUV traveling westbound.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Coroner Tim Warco identified the driver of the Hyundai as Donna K. Havens, 59, of Wheeling, West Virginia. The driver of the Ford was William L. Magers, 69, of Glen Dale, West Virginia.
A passenger in the SUV was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
I-70 was closed as crews responded to the crash, but has since reopened.
Pennsylvania State Police are working to learn more.
