NORTH BRADDOCK, Pa. — Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire in North Braddock.
The fire on North Avenue impacted two structures.
North Braddock firefighters told us that the flames spread very quickly and caused minor damage to the house next door.
All firefighters were ordered to evacuate the building where the fire initially began.
Right around the time the fire broke out, neighbors said they heard a loud boom and their houses shook.
Thick smoke billowed from the roof of the duplex where the fire started.
We know that an elderly woman who works as a school crossing guard lives on the right side and was able to get out safely.
“Beautiful lady. Every time I drive past, I speak to her, you know what I mean? Yeah, I just hate that that happened to her. Now she’s without a home. She’s been living in there for years,” said neighbor Dashawn Craig.
