ASPINWALL, Pa. — An elderly woman was rushed to a hospital after she was hit by an SUV near UPMC St. Margaret’s Hospital in Aspinwall Wednesday morning.
Allegheny County police said around 7 a.m., the woman was crossing Delafield Road towards St. Margaret Drive when an SUV making a left turn from Freeport Road struck her.
The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with police.
The intersection of Freeport Road and Delafield remains closed. Allegheny County police continue to investigate.
