Dreama Lynch, Jayden’s 16-year-old little sister, said, “When my cousin was acting weird, he said there was an accident in my family, my brother never crossed my mind.”

“He always was smiling, and he had a very big heart,” said Billie Jo Lynch, Jayden’s Aunt and legal guardian of six years.

Jayden Lynch was struck and killed by a car on College Avenue late Thursday night. Today, markings remain on the road where the 19-year-old lost his life.

“His heart was pure,” said Billie Jo Lynch.

Lynch was riding an e-bike without a helmet when a car traveling in the same direction struck and killed him before fleeing the scene.

State Trooper Steve Limani said, “There was enough damage and vehicle parts that would lend itself to believe that the person that was operating the vehicle should realize that they had struck somebody. ”

“Why didn’t you stay to make sure he was okay or not?” said Dreama Lynch about the driver of the car that killed her brother.

Police said they recovered part of the car’s bumper with serial marks on the inside, which helped identify the car as a 2011 Kia Rio or Forte and led them to a home in Jeannette.

“We were clearly able to see from being outside that Jeannette residence that that vehicle was also missing the piece of the bumper,” said Trooper Limani.

Police later filed a search warrant to enter the home as multiple people inside refused to answer the door.

Billie Jo Lynch said, “The main thing going through my head is, did he suffer? So that’s the hardest part because he’s 19 years old…he’s young.”

Police are now interviewing potential suspects and have the vehicle that struck lynch in their possession.

A GoFundMe page has been set up in his memory for his family to hold a proper celebration of life.
