PITTSBURGH — Saturday marked “National Coming Out Day,” and to mark the occasion, advocacy groups across the city took part in a day of action to chalk rainbow crosswalks in the city.
The crosswalks could be found in several neighborhoods -- including Regent Square, Oakland, the Northside and Bellevue.
It’s part of a national effort called “We Will Not Be Erased,” which is pushing back against the removal of rainbow crosswalks in various cities across the country.
Organizers say it’s about visibility and standing up against silencing efforts.
