Motorcyclist killed in Chippewa crash after driving at ‘extremely high rate of speed,’ police say

CHIPPEWA, Pa. — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash after crashing into another vehicle in Beaver County on Tuesday night.

The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Route 51, between McKinley Road and Shenango Road, in Chippewa Township, near the Walmart.

Viewer video sent to Channel 11 showed a smashed-up car, a motorcycle on its side and debris scattered across the road.

Chippewa Township Police Chief Eric Hermick said the motorcyclist was seen doing a wheelie at excessive speeds on Route 51. Hermick said the motocyclist ran several red lights, continued to drive at an “extremely high rate of speed” and struck another vehicle.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle had to be extricated from the car and was taken to Allegheny General Hospital.

On Wednesday afternoon, state police identified the motorcyclist as Brandon Booher, 19, of Beaver.

Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate.
