The break happened around 5:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of McNeilly Road.
The water in the area has since been shut off. Pennsylvania American Water said around 75 customers, including the Dorchester Apartments of Mt. Lebanon, are currently without water.
Nearby Seton LaSalle High School said they were running on a two-hour delay this morning.
Keystone Oaks High School and the Salvation Army are not impacted.
Pennsylvania American Water said a contractor will be assisting two customers with property damage related to the break.
