Police were called to the 100 block of Broadway Drive in the early afternoon on Wednesday.

“That was our biggest fear... is anybody hurt?” Pleasant Hills Police Chief Brian Finnerty told Channel 11.

SWAT officers escorted Dennis Maloy, 42, out of his home after police say he threatened to kill officers and his own four young children.

“I think there are a lot of emotions because of the holidays and financial and mental health. It just seems to amplify it,” Chief Finnerty said.

According to the Chief, a social worker came to do a welfare check at the home on Broadway Drive when Maloy threatened her. She called 911, and when officers got there, the chief said Maloy made more threats

“He said we need to leave, he wasn’t opening the door, and that he was going to kill us and the children, then he shut the door,” Finnerty said.

SWAT officers decided to set off flash bangs, go inside the home, and bring Maloy outside.

Maloy is facing several counts of terroristic threats.
