Man shot, killed in Pittsburgh’s Middle Hill neighborhood

PITTSBURGH — A man is dead after a shooting in Pittsburgh’s Middle Hill neighborhood on Sunday.

Pittsburgh Public Safety officials say police were called to the 2400 block of Webster Avenue for a ShotSpotter alert around 6 p.m.

Police arrived to find a man in his 30s who’d been shot multiple times, down in the street.

Officers performed CPR, and medics took the man to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are searching for at least one suspect who fled on foot.

The investigation is ongoing.

Channel 11 spoke with a store clerk inside the nearby Ann’s Market on Webster Avenue and Somers Street.

They were too emotional to speak on camera but said they’re saddened that another life is lost to gun violence, right outside the store.

The store clerk says the victim was inside, buying a few items and talking on the phone for about three minutes before leaving.

Channel 11 obtained surveillance video from inside and outside the store.

In the video, you can see the victim exit the store and walk along Webster Avenue.

At that point, a person walking on the sidewalk pulls out a gun and shoots the man in the street.

“In connection with our real-time crime center, they found some video of a male running from the scene, an individual running from the scene rather down Somers Street, and at this time, the investigation is active and ongoing,” Pittsburgh Public Safety public information officer Cara Cruz said.
