BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — A middle school student was hit by a vehicle in Beaver Falls.

The Beaver Falls Police Department said an 11-year-old girl was hit at the 1800 block of 7th Avenue at 7:30 a.m. The Big Beaver Falls Area School District confirmed she was on her way to school.

Investigators said she was crossing 7th Avenue in a clearly marked crosswalk when she was hit by a silver Ford Edge.

The student has minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for further treatment.

Police said the driver was cooperative and stayed at the scene.

“We appreciate the quick response of first responders and the care they provided. We will continue to support the student and family,” said Big Beaver Falls Area School District Superintendent Dr. Donna M. Nugent.

No charges have been filed at this time.
