Man charged in deadly Pittsburgh stabbing

PITTSBURGH — A person is dead, and another person is facing charges after a stabbing in Pittsburgh.

Police said officers were called to the 2700 block of Webster Avenue just before 6 p.m. for reports of two men fighting.

When police arrived at the scene, one of them was on the ground and stabbed multiple times in his torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the other man, Robert Tillman, 50, was covered in blood.

He was taken to police headquarters, where police learned he lived in the same home as the victim. It’s unknown how the two men knew each other.

Tillman told police a fight had started between him and the victim, and eventually Tillman admitted to stabbing the other man, according to the criminal complaint.

Police were able to obtain surveillance video. In the video, according to the criminal complaint, police could see Tillman make a stabbing motion up to 20 times.

Tillman has been charged with criminal homicide and is in the Allegheny County Jail.
