2 teens hospitalized after crashing stolen vehicle into Ross Township EMS station

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The surveillance cameras on the Ross West View EMS building captured the moments a stolen car slammed right into its garage around 3 a.m. Monday.

Two teenagers were inside, and according to sources, they were driving at least 100 miles per hour past the West View Police Department.

The car ended up in Ross, lost control, then went airborne into the building.

“The folks who were inside sleeping were jolted awake. The dorm is directly above where the car hit. They said it sounded and felt like a bomb had gone off,” Ross/West View EMS Chief Greg Porter told Channel 11.

Chief Porter told Channel 11 that none of his staff were in the garage at the time, and no one inside was hurt.

Their first priority was helping the teenagers inside of the car.

“Getting them out of the car first was the most important because the car was catching fire. So they did that quickly, they extinguished the fire,” Porter said.

Channel 11 cameras were there when EMTs loaded the teens into an ambulance.

“The driver was critically injured with severe internal bleeding. The passenger had several broken bones, but not life-threatening,” Porter said.

Hours after the crash, we got a look at how badly damaged the car was — it’s unrecognizable.

As for the EMS building, part of it is now unusable.

“Incredibly glad that my staff is safe, and none of them were injured. And incredibly proud of the way they responded because they adapted to an incredibly challenging situation,” Porter said.
