MILLVALE, Pa. — Millvale Police have arrested a teen accused of bringing a gun onto a Shaler Area School District bus.

An investigation began on Thursday when the school district’s school resource officers were made aware of a student who allegedly had a weapon.

A video showed the student with a semiautomatic weapon.

Millvale Police Chief Timothy Komoroski said his department worked with the Shaler Police Department to arrest the 16-year-old resident of Millvale.

The suspect reportedly has a prior record and has been expelled from the district.

The teen is in the custody of Allegheny County Juvenile authorities.

A Shaler Area School District spokesperson reiterated Sunday that they’re conducting a review of the incident and district security protocols.
