PITTSBURGH — Sunshine and milder temperatures will bring a welcome break Thursday. Temperatures will climb into the mid 40s, and clouds will hold off until later in the day. The next system will be more wet than white with rain returning late Thursday night and continuing off and on through Friday. It will be warm again with highs near 50 degrees and the combination of milder temperatures and wet weather could bring flooding concerns along area creeks, streams and rivers.
A Flood Watch goes into effect early Friday morning for parts of Westmoreland and Fayette counties in Western PA and in the higher elevations of West Virgina where crews will be watching for potential ice jam flooding as rivers rise.
Severe Weather Team 11 will be tracking this rain maker as it moves into our area and have the latest timing and rain totals for your area.
