ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A teen is facing charges in connection with a shooting that happened at the Ross Park Mall parking lot.
Myshawn Scott, 16, of East Hills, was charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and gun charges on Wednesday.
Police said a teen arrived at Allegheny General Hospital after the shootout on Sept. 30.
According to a criminal complaint, the victim told police they were shot at while walking in the parking lot. Police said the victim admitted to firing back. They were ultimately shot on the left side of their lower abdomen.
Police said they reviewed surveillance video of the shooting and were able to provide the Pittsburgh Public Schools Police with a photo of the shooter. They were able to identify Scott as the suspect.
Police said Scott and the victim attend the same high school.
Investigators said the video showed Scott using a dark semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine.
Multiple people were on the nearby sidewalk when the shooting took place.
Scott is not in custody at this time.
