ETNA, Pa. — The public was asked to avoid part of Grant Avenue in Etna on Sunday afternoon while first responders pulled a vehicle from Pine Creek.

An Allegheny County 911 dispatcher tells Channel 11 that first responders were sent near the 7/11 on Grant Avenue around 11:40 a.m.

Our crew on scene saw a vehicle in Pine Creek with significant front-end damage. The two people inside the vehicle were on the roof when first responders got on scene and had to be rescued. We’re told they sustained minor injuries.

It wasn’t immediately clear how the vehicle ended up in the creek.

The vehicle was removed from the creek and Grant Avenue reopened by 2 p.m.

The closure also temporarily caused PRT’s 2-Mount Royal bus to detour around an inbound and outbound stop, but the bus has since returned to its regular route.
