Widely scattered storms move through Pittsburgh region on Sunday

PITTSBURGH — Widely scattered showers continue this morning, mainly east and southeast of Pittsburgh.

With an approaching cold front, a shower can’t be ruled out at any time, but severe weather is not expected as warm and dry air aloft will greatly limit storm strength.

Light rain may linger south of I-70 through about 10 p.m. or midnight, followed by a rush of less humid air overnight and into early Monday.

Monday and Tuesday will offer the most pleasant-feeling conditions we’ve had in a while. Enjoy it, because heat and humidity races back in for the second half of the week as highs approach 90 degrees. The next chance for thunderstorms looks to hold off until Friday.
