Winter Weather Advisory lingers in some Western Pennsylvania counties; rain continues Monday

PITTSBURGH — Light showers and drizzle will end late Sunday night.

A Winter Weather Advisory continues for Venango, Clarion, Forest, Indiana, and for the ridges of Westmoreland, Fayette and Preston (WV) counties until 1 a.m. Icy spots from freezing rain are still possible in the advised areas tonight. A Winter Storm Warning continues for Somerset, Garrett, and eastern Tucker counties until early Monday morning.

Milder air takes over on Monday. Temperatures will reach the 50s, with rain for the late afternoon and evening. Winds will pick up into the evening — gusts could reach up to 30 mph. Clouds will break on Tuesday with slightly cooler temperatures and highs are expected to reach the upper 40s.

The next system will move into the area on Wednesday, with rain later in the day followed by much colder air for Thursday. Light rain/snow mix is possible as this system moves out overnight into early Thursday morning. This next shot of colder air will stick around Friday and into next weekend.
