Woman dies after apparent stabbing in North Braddock senior living facility

NORTH BRADDOCK, Pa. — A woman was found dead Saturday morning inside a senior living facility in North Braddock.

Family members say they are devastated and want answers.

Allegheny County police say officers were called to Shady Park Place on Lobinger Avenue shortly before 10 a.m. for a report of a woman found dead.

Investigators say the woman had multiple stab wounds.

Christopher Henley identified the victim as his mom, Faith Henley, a mother of ten.

“That was my mom. I love her to death, and I’m sad that this happened,” Christopher Henley said.

He described his mother as caring and well-known in the community.

“My mom was a good person, you know, nice and uplifting,” he said. “She was like the loving neighborhood mom. She was my mom, she was your mom.”

Faith Henley’s sister, Camillia Henley, said Faith had just celebrated her 65th birthday a week earlier.

“She just had a heart of gold,” Camillia Henley said. “For somebody to do that to her, that’s crazy. It’s sickening.”

Camillia said she was attending a memorial service for a friend when she heard about her sister’s death.

She rushed to the apartment building but was not allowed inside.

“We went up to her apartment. They wouldn’t let us in,” she said. “So we just went down and just praying and hoping to God that it wasn’t true.”

Now, the family says they are struggling to understand what happened and are asking for more information from authorities, as well as prayers.

“Just keep the Henley family in your prayers,” Camillia said through tears. “We need all the prayers in the world, my God.”

Police have not yet identified a suspect.
